Analyst, Digital Forensics

About the role

The Analyst, Digital Forensics will lead and support digitally‑enabled fraud investigations and forensic examinations, ensuring evidence is collected, preserved and analysed in line with international standards and MTN’s Fraud Risk Management framework.

Key responsibilities

• Perform forensic acquisition, preservation and analysis of digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, servers, cloud applications and network logs.
• Maintain strict chain of custody, using write‑blocking, hashing and verified imaging techniques.
• Utilise industry‑standard forensic tools (Cellebrite, EnCase, FTK, Axiom, X‑Ways) to recover deleted, encrypted or hidden data.
• Conduct memory forensics, timeline analysis and malware triage as required.
• Lead or support complex fraud investigations, including employee misconduct, vendor fraud, revenue leakage and cyber‑fraud.
• Develop investigation plans, gather documentary and testimonial evidence, conduct interviews and produce comprehensive reports.
• Identify root causes, control weaknesses and systemic risks, recommending practical remediation measures.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or professional certification in digital forensics, information security or a related field.
• Experience conducting forensic examinations and fraud investigations in a corporate or telecom environment.
• Strong understanding of forensic standards, legal requirements and evidence admissibility.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
