Driver – Safe Transportation & Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for authorized personnel, as well as handling cargo, mail, and administrative support tasks. The role requires professionalism, courtesy, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

• Transport authorized personnel and, when required, cargo or hazardous goods safely and on schedule.
• Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items as needed.
• Assist personnel at the airport, including immigration and customs formalities.
• Maintain accurate daily vehicle logs and support maintenance planning.
• Perform routine vehicle checks, minor repairs, and coordinate major repairs.
• Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and ensure all required documents and supplies are available.
• Respond promptly to accidents in line with organizational procedures.
• Support administrative services with procurement, inventory management, and facility maintenance requests.

Required profile

• Secondary school (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant driving experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with no specific experience required.
• Demonstrated experience in safe and defensive driving, minor vehicle repair, and knowledge of driving regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence and driver’s training.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural or UN‑system environments is desirable.
• Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is a plus.
