Head Credit Risk Management

About the role

The Head of Credit Risk Management will lead the development and execution of credit strategies that align with the bank’s overall risk appetite. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this senior leader will ensure the credit portfolio is managed to minimise loss while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Implement credit policies and strategies consistent with the bank’s risk acceptance criteria.
• Establish and maintain a robust framework for credit portfolio management and monitoring.
• Review and analyse credit positions across market segments, raise issues and recommend actions.
• Authorize facility applications after obtaining required approvals.
• Develop credit administration processes to minimise risk of loss and ensure proper collateral coverage.
• Design strategies to maintain a healthy credit portfolio and manage delinquencies promptly.
• Provide visionary leadership to the credit risk team, guiding them to achieve objectives.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Chief Risk Officer.

Required profile

• First degree in any discipline; a relevant master’s degree and professional certifications (ACIB, ICA, ACCA, CFA) are advantageous.
• Formal training in banking law or regulations.
• Minimum 10 years of post‑qualification experience in credit risk management, with at least 8 years in banking and 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in credit administration, credit product knowledge, credit analysis, loan administration, credit restructuring, financial analysis, and facility structuring.
