Provost – College of Education

About the role

The University of Ghana seeks a senior academic leader to serve as Provost of the College of Education, effective 1 August 2026. The Provost will provide strategic direction, oversee academic and administrative functions, and ensure the College’s growth aligns with the university’s mission and vision.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the College of Education, driving its development and performance.
• Coordinate the three academic units: School of Information and Communication Studies, School of Education and Leadership, and School of Continuing and Distance Education.
• Oversee the two city campuses in Kumasi and Takoradi that fall under the Provost’s purview.
• Raise funds and secure resources to support the College’s initiatives.
• Implement university policy decisions affecting the College.

Required profile

• Must be a Professor or an industry professional eligible for a senior academic leadership position.
• Demonstrated experience in academic administration and strategic planning.
• Strong understanding of higher education, teaching and learning technologies, and distance education.
