Security Coordinator

About the role

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is seeking a qualified Security Coordinator to lead the day‑to‑day administration of its security unit. The role involves planning, organizing, directing and controlling security personnel to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and control the activities of security guards and watchmen.
• Ensure all security staff are properly trained and competent for their duties.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of all security locations.
• Implement and enforce security procedures, standing orders and internal regulations.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for security officers.
• Investigate incidents such as theft, pilfering, assaults and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Submit routine reports to the Director of Administration and assist in budgeting and annual planning.
• Promote best security practices and oversee performance appraisals within the unit.

Required profile

• First degree in Psychology, Management, or related field with safety and security training, OR former security officer not below rank of Chief Inspector.
• Maximum age of 45 years.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health security policies, KATH administrative procedures, and health safety and security standards.
• Excellent leadership, honesty, motivation and ability to work under pressure.
