Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, and support management with reporting and analysis. This role is pivotal for maintaining compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards in Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversee inventory, cost of goods sold, and import costing reconciliations.
• Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of supplier invoices and payments.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Coordinate audits and meet statutory compliance requirements.
• Handle accurate tax filings and ensure compliance with Ghanaian regulations.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting team members.
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior accounting roles with responsibility for month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws and statutory compliance.
• Experience supervising and developing junior accounting staff.
• Ability to drive process improvements and maintain robust internal controls.
