Agronomist – Crop Production & Soil Management

About the role

The Agronomist will work closely with the Farm Site Manager and local farmers to boost crop yields and improve soil health within GBfoods Africa’s block farming project. This role combines field support, scientific experimentation, and data analysis to enhance farmer incomes and project sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide agronomic support in crop production, soil control, and soil management.
• Identify and implement strategies to maximize crop output per hectare.
• Design and conduct experiments to optimize plant nutrients and soil health.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil, seed, and crop samples.
• Analyze results and present data-driven insights to farmers and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (Master’s in soil science is a plus).
• Minimum three years of experience as an Agronomist.
• Strong knowledge of soil and crop principles.
• Excellent research, analytical, and community‑engagement skills.
• Proactive, result‑driven attitude with high ownership.
