Financial Sector Capacity Building Specialist

About the role

The Financial Sector Capacity Building Specialist will support Ghanaian financial intermediaries in strengthening their ability to assess, underwrite, and structure agricultural finance transactions. This role is based in Accra/Tema and reports to CNFA’s project team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical assistance activities for financial institutions to develop agriculture‑related lending units.
• Design and deliver training on agricultural finance assessment, underwriting, and risk management.
• Assist banks and micro‑finance institutions in creating agricultural certification programs.
• Provide on‑the‑ground support to expand the capacity of intermediaries to undertake agriculture‑related investments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working within the Ghanaian financial sector.
• Proven track record in building capacity of financial firms.
• Strong knowledge of the opportunities and constraints of agricultural finance.

Required skills

• Capacity‑building and training delivery.
• Understanding of agricultural finance products and risk assessment.
• Experience with financial underwriting and structuring.
