Captain – Embraer 190 (E190) – Full‑time

About the role

As a Captain on the Embraer 190, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft, its occupants and cargo throughout each flight. You will lead the crew, ensure compliance with all operational procedures and maintain the highest standards of professionalism representing Africa World Airlines.

Key responsibilities

• Command the aircraft and give all necessary instructions to ensure safety of the aeroplane, passengers, crew and cargo.
• Follow company operations manuals, complete all checklists and maintain accurate flight records.
• Verify weather forecasts and ensure flight conditions meet company operating minima.
• Confirm aircraft serviceability, emergency equipment readiness and correct mass‑balance before departure.
• Conduct flights in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5,000 total flight hours, including at least 2,000 hours as Pilot‑in‑Command on the E190.
• Valid ICAO ATPL with an E190 type‑rating or a valid Ghana ATPL.
• Current Class 1 medical certificate and a valid passport.
• No history of incidents or accidents and clean criminal record (authenticated proof required for non‑Ghanaians).
• Minimum ICAO Level 4 English proficiency.
