About the role
The Credit Control Officer will support the company's credit management function, ensuring that credit is extended to customers who can meet their obligations while protecting the firm’s liquidity. This role works closely with sales, treasury, and legal teams to maintain a healthy working‑capital position.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in organizing monthly Credit Control meetings across all sales channels.
- Collect and analyse block orders for management review and release.
- Prepare total card analysis and update customer accounts using the Harmonie Tool.
- Generate and circulate monthly customer statements of account.
- Track debtor transfers to the Legal Department and keep the Credit Control Manager informed.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve the credit control unit’s annual targets.
- Follow up on collection promises made by Network and Consumer Territory Managers.
- Coordinate with Treasury officers to ensure timely matching of customer accounts.
- Adhere to company safety policies and report any near‑miss incidents.
Required profile
- First degree (minimum second class upper) in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- At least three years of experience in a similar credit control or accounts‑receivable role.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Harmonie Tool for account analysis.
