Dispatch Technician

About the role

Gold Fields Ghana is looking for an experienced Dispatch Technician to join the Mining Department. Reporting to the FMS Engineer, you will manage and maintain mining hardware and software systems while supporting the integration of new technologies on site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hardware and software installations on mining technology systems deployed onsite.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Liaise with dispatchers, operators, and other stakeholders to improve system operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with IT teams and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure infrastructure reliability.
• Develop and maintain safe work procedures for all hardware tasks.
• Maintain hardware inventory and coordinate replacements or upgrades.
• Align system support activities with mining plans and production targets.
• Track resource usage and manage procurement to ensure efficient operations.

Required profile

• Minimum tertiary qualification in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a mining environment.
• Modular Dispatch Hardware Certificate of competency is an advantage.
• Demonstrated technical competency in fleet management systems such as Modular Dispatch, Hexagon OP Pro, Wenco, Pitram, etc.
• Strong information and data management skills.
• General knowledge of wireless network infrastructure.
• Familiarity with applicable standards, methods, and procedures.
• Proactive safety leader, team‑oriented, and able to take responsibility through to completion.
