Electrical Engineering Officer – Railway Maintenance

About the role

The Ghana Railway Development Authority is looking for an Electrical Engineering Officer to lead the maintenance of its diesel‑electric locomotive fleet. The role ensures safe, reliable operation of electrical and control systems while coordinating with operations and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance of diesel‑electric locomotives.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor diagnosis and repair of electrical, electronic, traction and control system faults.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintenance procedures and operational standards.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to improve fleet performance and minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of industrial experience in locomotive or power‑system maintenance.
• Good understanding of railway maintenance procedures, electrical safety standards and workplace safety regulations.
• Based in Tema, Ghana.
