M&E Specialist – Monitoring & Evaluation for Global Health Project

About the role

The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will lead data management and reporting for the EpiC project, a USAID/PEPFAR‑funded initiative aimed at HIV epidemic control and broader health system strengthening in Ghana. The role involves coordinating with sub‑grant recipients, ensuring high‑quality data flow, and supporting evidence‑based decision‑making across three PEPFAR‑supported regions.

Key responsibilities

• Guide civil society organizations (CSOs) in updating results on the national DHIS2 platform and project‑specific tools.
• Receive, compile, review, and verify monthly and quarterly data submissions, ensuring accurate entry into INFOLINK, DATIM/AFGHS, and DHIS2.
• Cross‑check and reconcile data across systems to eliminate variances.
• Design, plan, and conduct quarterly Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) at sub‑grant sites and health facilities.
• Develop and monitor Data Quality Improvement Plans (DQIPs).
• Provide M&E mentoring, coaching, and supportive supervision to sub‑grant staff and site‑level M&E officers.
• Ensure compliance with standardized HIV M&E guidelines, national indicators, and PEPFAR MER requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and data management within public health or international development projects.
• Familiarity with Ghana’s health information systems and PEPFAR reporting frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality.
