Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (M&E)

About the role

The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist will lead the implementation of the M&E plan for the BUSAC Fund, a project funded by DANIDA, DFID, and USAID. The role involves supervising data collection, ensuring data quality, and providing analytical insights to support donor reporting and project decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a team of consultants to gather data, conduct due diligence, and monitor projects according to the M&E plan.
• Upload and query project data in an SQL‑based Monitoring Information System, requiring basic MS SQL knowledge.
• Conduct periodic quality‑assurance activities such as field verification visits and spot checks.
• Analyse and interpret data across the project cycle to meet reporting requirements.
• Track and update log‑frame and donor‑specific indicators.
• Develop and publish project maps using Google Fusion Tables technology.
• Represent the BUSAC Fund at development partners’ M&E meetings and deliver presentations.

Required profile

• University graduate in an analytical or development‑related field.
• Minimum 3 years proven experience in monitoring and evaluation.
• Age not exceeding 35 years.
• Knowledge of designing and implementing M&E systems and logical‑framework approaches.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting systems.
• Demonstrated initiative, ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, report‑writing, and presentation skills.
