Senior Specialist, Infrastructure Planning

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Infrastructure Planning will lead strategic planning, design governance, and capacity management for MTN’s compute, storage, network and hybrid cloud platforms. The role ensures that infrastructure remains scalable, resilient, cost‑efficient and aligned with current and future business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end planning of public, private and hybrid cloud services.
• Plan and execute migration waves, including landing zones and workload transitions, and hand over to operations.
• Drive process optimisation, standardisation, documentation discipline and post‑implementation reviews.
• Develop and maintain an infrastructure roadmap that supports digital transformation and cloud migration strategies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (cloud, virtualization, container platforms, automation tools) and provide recommendations on OEMs and platforms.
• Perform capacity modelling and forecasting for compute, storage, network and licensing.
• Review and approve infrastructure designs, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, business units and application teams to translate demand into capacity plans.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in infrastructure planning and cloud services.
• Proven ability to lead migration projects and develop strategic roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture standards and governance.
