Wagon Operator – Freight Rail (10 positions)

About the role

The Ghana Railway Development Authority is hiring ten Wagon Operators to support safe and efficient freight transport at its Tema yard. Operators will work directly with rail wagons, ensuring they are ready for cargo movements and comply with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform coupling and decoupling of freight wagons, inspecting brakes, wheels and load conditions.
• Secure cargo and manage load distribution to optimise yard operations.
• Maintain accurate records of wagon movements, usage and report any faults or operational issues.

Required profile

• Minimum Senior High School (SHS) education or equivalent.
• 2–3 years experience in railway, logistics or heavy‑transport operations.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in a demanding environment.
• Knowledge of railway safety procedures and ability to work as part of a team.
