Chief Community Officer (CCO) – Global Health Organization

About the role

The Chief Community Officer (CCO) will join the executive team of a leading global health organisation, reporting directly to the CEO. This senior leader will shape and drive community engagement, ensuring diverse voices influence strategy and long‑term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global community and membership strategy covering engagement, partnerships, learning, events and participation programmes.
• Create clear pathways for contributors, volunteers and leaders to engage, develop, and influence organisational decisions.
• Strengthen relationships with community members and ensure initiatives deliver meaningful impact, inclusion and value.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to embed community perspectives into strategic priorities.
• Lead organisational change, embed new ways of working, and translate strategy into measurable outcomes.

Required profile

• Senior leader based in the Global South with extensive experience in scientific, research or health environments.
• Proven track record in evidence synthesis, systematic reviews and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience leading change in complex, mission‑led or international network organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups and champion equitable participation.
• Inclusive, authentic leadership style with strong trust‑building capabilities.
