Director of Finance – University of Cape Coast

About the role
The Director of Finance serves as the Chief Accounting Officer of the University, reporting to the Vice‑Chancellor through the Registrar and overseeing all accounting and financial activities.
Key responsibilities
- General administration of financial and all accounting matters of the University
- Initiating action and introducing accounting systems and procedures
- Controlling special advances and imprest
- Overseeing all bills receivable and payable locally and internationally
- Ensuring proper oversight of revenue collectors and guarding against fraud, embezzlement and irregularities
Required profile
- Postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Audit
- Member in good standing of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g., ICA, ACCA, CIMA)
- At least 10 years post‑qualification experience as a professional accountant
- Previous service as Deputy Director of Finance in a university
- Considerable knowledge of university financial administration
