About the role
The University of Ghana seeks a senior leader to head its Institutional Advancement Directorate. Reporting directly to the Vice‑Chancellor, the Director will shape and execute strategies that strengthen alumni, industry, and community relationships while driving fundraising initiatives that support the university’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and nurture strong relations with alumni, industry partners, and the business community.
- Design and implement fundraising strategies to secure resources for university development projects.
- Collaborate with the Public Affairs Directorate to promote the university’s goodwill and public image.
- Support academic units in achieving their fundraising and strategic partnership objectives.
- Provide strategic input for the university’s current and future strategic plans.
- Maximize donor engagement and maintain a positive institutional reputation.
Required profile
- First and advanced degrees (e.g., Bachelor’s and Master’s or equivalent).
- Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably within higher education.
- Demonstrated strategic, interpersonal, and collegial abilities suitable for the higher‑education environment.
