Fractional CFO / Consulting CFO (manufacturing & Cost Accounting)

About the role

Africa Firm is looking for an experienced Fractional CFO or Consulting CFO to provide strategic financial leadership for its manufacturing and production businesses. The role focuses on cost accounting, cash‑flow management, profitability improvement, ERP optimisation and financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with CEOs and General Managers to drive budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and strategic finance initiatives.
• Design and oversee standard costing, production costing and variance analysis for labour, materials and overheads.
• Manage inventory valuation, stock controls, working‑capital performance and cash conversion cycles.
• Develop management dashboards, KPI reporting and financial models for capital‑expenditure decisions.
• Optimise ERP and reporting systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and strengthen internal controls.
• Support fundraising, banking relationships and investor reporting as needed.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, ICA or equivalent) with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 10+ years of senior finance leadership experience, preferably as CFO, Finance Director or Consulting CFO in manufacturing, industrial or agribusiness environments.
• Proven track record in cost accounting, production finance and operational performance improvement.
