About the role
The Head of Communications & Public Relations leads the university’s strategic communication, brand management and media engagement, ensuring the institution’s reputation and visibility across Ghana and the wider African region.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication and PR campaigns aligned with the university’s strategic plan.
- Oversee brand and reputation management, ensuring consistency with UNESCO co‑branding guidelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with national, regional and international media, coordinating press events and statements.
- Lead content creation for multimedia assets, including videos, photography, blogs, newsletters and annual reports.
- Manage crisis communication frameworks and enhance internal communication flows.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Strategic Marketing, International Relations or related field (PhD advantageous).
- Minimum five years of progressive communications leadership experience, including at least two years as head of a PR or media function, preferably in higher education or an international agency.
- Proven record of large‑scale PR campaigns, crisis management and brand transformation.
- Active membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., IPR Ghana, CIPR).
