Head of Finance, Reporting, and Tax

About the role

The Head of Finance, Reporting, and Tax will join the senior management team to drive financial strategy, reporting excellence, and tax compliance for a leading insurance organization operating in Accra and Tema.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the CFO in strategic planning by providing commercial and financial insights.
• Oversee consolidation of financial data for group‑level reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS 17, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure and business planning processes.
• Maintain robust financial systems, controls and processes across the organization.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management accounts and tax computations.
• Develop and update policies and procedures related to financial reporting.
• Monitor cash flows, cost statements and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Provide timely, high‑quality financial information to support commercial decisions.

Required profile

• Executive‑level qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, accounting or related fields.
• Proven experience in the insurance or banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 and local statutory reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large finance teams and manage cross‑functional projects.
