Head of Label Operations

About the role

Lead the engine room of Rain Labs, overseeing release schedules, royalty payments and distributor relationships. Report directly to the CEO and act as the bridge between A&R, marketing, finance and distribution partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the release operations team, ensuring accurate metadata, assets and delivery quality.
• Own day‑to‑day distribution relationship with Virgin Music Group, handling priorities, marketing asks and escalations.
• Manage royalty accounting, reconcile distributor reports, and oversee artist splits, advances and recoupments.
• Oversee artist contract administration, rights tracking and catalogue data integrity.
• Build and improve workflows, tooling and reporting across UK and African operations.

Required profile

• 5+ years in label operations, distribution, royalties or rights management.
• Experience managing a major‑affiliated distributor relationship.
• Strong commercial and financial literacy, comfortable with contracts and recoupment.
• Proven ability to lead remote teams across time zones.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DSP delivery and metadata standards (ISRC, UPC).
• Familiarity with royalty platforms such as Curve or Revelator.
