Learning Associate

About the role

Booksie is seeking a creative, organised and proactive Learning Associate to support the planning and delivery of its literacy programmes across Accra and Tema. You will develop engaging lesson plans, teaching materials and activities based on the company’s reading curriculum and deliver lessons to young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans that incorporate phonics, comprehension, vocabulary and other foundational reading skills.
• Design teaching materials, reading games, worksheets and arts‑and‑crafts activities that make learning interactive.
• Deliver reading lessons, including Jolly Phonics sound groups, to learners at various reading levels.
• Assess learner progress, maintain records and identify children who need additional support.
• Use assessment results and facilitator feedback to continuously improve curriculum and resources.
• Prepare learning materials ahead of sessions and collaborate with the Learning Manager and other facilitators.

Required profile

• At least two years of teaching experience in preschool or lower primary (English).
• Training and certification in Jolly Phonics; Montessori training is a plus.
• Strong writing, communication and research abilities.
• Highly creative, organised, self‑motivated and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator.
