National Consultant – Mapping Youth‑Led Networks in Ghana

About the role

The consultant will lead a mapping exercise of youth‑led organisations, networks, influencers and content creators working on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and related thematic areas across seven regions in Ghana. The work supports UNFPA’s EmpowerED programme and will inform partnership strategies with the National Youth Authority and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review baseline findings and national reproductive health planning documents to inform the mapping methodology.
• Develop and deploy a digital data‑collection tool to capture information on youth‑led actors in primary (Greater Accra, Bono East, Oti) and secondary (Eastern, Ashanti, North East, Volta) regions.
• Collaborate with NYA Regional Directors and implementing partners to verify and enrich the dataset.
• Audit existing SRHR interventions, assess financial sustainability and technical capacity of mapped organisations.
• Conduct regional consultations to validate findings and prepare a comprehensive final report with a structured database and strategic recommendations.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, development studies, communication or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in stakeholder mapping, landscape analysis or research with youth‑led or civil‑society networks.
• Demonstrated experience using youth‑centred, participatory and digital data‑collection methods.
• Working knowledge of the socio‑cultural context of the target regions, including linguistic considerations for RHE communication.
• Experience engaging national youth institutions such as the National Youth Authority and relevant ministries.
