Programme Director - Malaria Control

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Malaria Control (AGAMal) is a non-profit organisation working toward malaria elimination in Ghana. It is restructuring and rescoping its operations and is looking for a Programme Director to lead that transformation. The role is based in Obuasi and is advertised as a fixed-term contract renewable every two years.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and executive leadership for AGAMal, setting the strategic agenda and mobilising resources
• Build partnerships with government, donors and the private sector
• Oversee malaria control and integrated public health programmes
• Act as the Board's principal adviser on strategy, operations and policy

Required profile

• Master's degree in Public Health, Medical Entomology, Epidemiology, Tropical Medicine or a related field
• At least 5 years in senior leadership within public health or development programmes
• Experience managing large, multi-site, donor-funded programmes and multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of malaria control and integrated vector management
• A results-driven, innovative leader with strong integrity and stakeholder skills
