Remote Akan Language Teacher (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Akan speaker to join our remote team on an hourly contract. You will work on translating, localizing, and refining Akan language content while supporting AI language model development.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize content between Akan and English with cultural accuracy.
• Edit, proofread, and refine Akan language materials for clarity and consistency.
• Provide linguistic insights to train and evaluate AI language models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish language standards and guidelines.
• Develop and curate Akan language datasets for AI and NLP applications.
• Ensure high‑quality written and verbal communication in Akan across deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of language resources and workflows.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Akan with strong communication skills.
• Proven experience in translation, editing, or linguistic analysis.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Deep understanding of Akan grammar, cultural context, and language nuances.
• Ability to provide clear feedback to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI language training or linguistic data workflows.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
