AC Technician

About the role

HAPPY Program is hiring a full-time AC Technician based in the North Industrial Area of Tema, Ghana. The role covers the installation, servicing and repair of split, cassette and other air-conditioning units and related ventilation equipment, with a net salary of GHC 1,500-4,000.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service and repair split, cassette and other air-conditioning units and related ventilation equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, including cleaning filters and coils, checking drainage, inspecting electrical connections and testing system performance.
• Diagnose faults involving compressors, motors, thermostats, control boards, refrigerant circuits and other components.
• Check refrigerant levels and pressures, identify leaks and handle refrigerants using approved tools, procedures and environmental safeguards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, prioritising issues affecting customers, staff, stock or business operations.
• Maintain service reports, job cards, equipment histories, spare-parts records and details of work completed.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, use personal protective equipment and keep work areas safe and tidy.
• Escalate major faults, recurring failures and replacement needs, coordinating with approved contractors where necessary.

Required profile

• Technical or vocational qualification or recognised training in refrigeration and air-conditioning.
• Practical experience installing, servicing and repairing commercial or residential AC systems.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and customer-service oriented; willing to travel between sites and work outside normal hours when required.
