Electrician

About the role

HAPPY Program, a retail, fashion and FMCG company, is hiring an electrician to inspect, install, maintain and repair electrical systems in its stores, offices, warehouses, restaurants, bakeries and other facilities. The position is based in Spintex and Kasoa.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, install, maintain and repair wiring, lighting, sockets, switches, distribution boards and related electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults with testing instruments and carry out repairs within authorised limits.
• Carry out preventive checks on electrical installations, identify hazards and recommend corrective work.
• Support maintenance of electrical equipment in stores, offices, warehouses, restaurants and bakeries.
• Isolate power safely, apply lockout/tagout practices where applicable and verify circuits are safe to work on.
• Document jobs, test results, materials used, faults found and outstanding maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with other technicians and approved contractors on installations, renovations and major repairs.
• Keep tools and work areas secure and orderly, and report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.

Required profile

• Recognised electrical trade certificate, NVTI/CTVET qualification or equivalent technical training.
• Relevant experience in building, commercial or industrial electrical maintenance.
• Dependable, safety-focused, with good problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple sites.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of electrical safety and safe isolation procedures.
• Fault-finding and use of testing instruments.
