Business Development Associate

About the role

The Business Development Associate will support Cornerstone’s growth by identifying and engaging merchants, organisations and partners in Ghana who can benefit from its fintech services. You will collaborate with leadership, Marketing and Customer Success to turn interest into active, well‑supported customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify prospective merchants, organisations and partners.
• Conduct outreach via phone, email, WhatsApp and, where agreed, in‑person visits.
• Support the preparation of pitches, proposals and presentations.
• Maintain an organised lead pipeline and record of conversations.
• Hand over interested customers to Customer Success for onboarding.
• Gather market feedback on pricing, needs and objections.
• Report weekly on pipeline activity and outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Confidence in reaching out and building relationships with new people.
• Self‑motivation and ability to work towards agreed targets.
• Good understanding of small businesses and organisations in Ghana.
• Preferred sales or field experience and familiarity with local languages (Twi, Ga, Ewe or others).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Sheets.
• Experience using a basic CRM.
