Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Accra. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with corporate and individual clients, and promote Apex Trustee’s pension and retirement products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into clients.
• Conduct market research and analyse client needs to tailor pension solutions.
• Prepare proposals, deliver presentations and attend client meetings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Follow up on leads, provide high‑quality customer service and meet sales targets.
• Report accurately on business development activities and support strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong new‑business development and client acquisition abilities.
• Solid analytical and finance skills to assess client needs.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Prior experience in financial services, insurance, pensions or related sectors.
• High integrity, attention to detail and a results‑oriented mindset.
