Chief Supply Chain Officer

About the role

The Chief Supply Chain Officer will lead the end‑to‑end supply chain function, ensuring operational excellence and high service quality across fulfillment, distribution and delivery. Reporting to senior leadership, this role drives business growth by expanding the portfolio of Jumia services and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Implement best‑practice fulfillment, distribution, on‑demand and delivery operations.
• Develop and nurture client relationships, identifying opportunities to sell the full range of Jumia services.
• Oversee service quality for all clients and continuously improve internal processes.
• Make rapid decisions to resolve emergencies and coordinate project management for team initiatives.
• Lead, recruit and scale the sales, fulfillment and logistics teams, fostering employee development and satisfaction.
• Manage fleet operations and negotiate with third‑party logistics (3PL) providers.
• Deliver measurable operational and financial results for the designated region, including KPI reporting and budget control.
• Ensure accurate financial month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end processes.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in supply chain, logistics or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make fast, data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Track record of building and scaling high‑performing teams.
• Ability to manage budgets, revenues and operational expenditures.
