Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Reliability Engineer

About the role

Genser Energy is hiring a Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Reliability Engineer within its Operations & Maintenance (OM) division, reporting directly to the C&I Reliability Superintendent. The engineer supports the identification and management of asset reliability risks that could affect the plant, and contributes to the availability of assets and the overall reliability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities and safety/security systems through good practices of monitoring and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and maintainability of installations, covering gas regulation and metering stations, pumps, air compressors, electrical motors, fire suppression and detection systems, piping, tanks, vessels, boilers, chillers and heaters, and all related automation and control systems.
• Support the design, development, monitoring and refinement of an asset maintenance plan, including value-added predictive, proactive, preventive and corrective tasks, and the use of non-destructive testing methods.
• Ensure optimal use of the CMMS, and read and interpret blueprints, data sheets, control and wiring diagrams, instrument lists, control loops and control philosophies.
• Contribute to a risk management plan and propose engineering solutions to recurring failures using statistical process control, reliability modelling, fault tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Six Sigma.
• Carry out predictive and preventive maintenance, prepare permit-to-work documentation and keep regulatory records up to date.
• Support purchase and service order agreements for plant maintenance and ensure materials are available for planned maintenance, overhauls and mandatory inspections.

Required profile

• BSc in Control & Instrumentation, Electronic, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, in power plant management and reliability processes.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as Process Safety Management, OSHA, EPA and EEOC guidelines.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, industrial automation, SCADA and HMI, PLC-PAC programming and industrial networks.
