Dispensary Technician

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Dispensary Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role involves accurate medication dispensing, patient counseling, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and promptly.
• Provide patients with counseling on dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other staff to optimise medication therapy.
• Monitor patient drug therapy and suggest dosage adjustments or alternatives when needed.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation.
• Maintain precise records of prescriptions and pharmaceutical transactions in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, hospital policies, and safety standards.
• Participate in staff training and educate personnel on safe medication practices.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a pharmacy or clinical setting.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to ethical standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
