Finance and Fund Management Director

About the role

The Finance and Fund Management Director will lead the financial strategy and fund administration for a five‑year programme that supports staple food production and trade across Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Niger. Based in Accra, the role combines portfolio financing, policy analysis and regional coordination to address market failures in the agricultural sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage the Challenge Fund that provides financing to innovative food production and marketing business models.
• Oversee the Policy Facility, delivering evidence, analysis and advocacy for regulatory reforms.
• Coordinate with government agencies, donors, private sector partners and local NGOs across the four target countries.
• Ensure financial compliance, reporting and risk management for all programme activities.
• Travel regularly to project sites in Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria to monitor implementation and build stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Fluent in both French and English.
• Extensive experience in finance, fund management or investment in development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑country programmes and manage large financial portfolios.
• Strong understanding of agricultural markets and policy environments in West Africa.
