Finance Manager

About the role

The Ghana Institution of Engineering is looking for a Finance Manager to oversee its financial management, reporting and control functions. The role calls for strong leadership in financial planning, compliance and risk management to ensure the Institution's financial sustainability and accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans
• Oversee accurate and timely financial statements prepared in line with applicable standards
• Manage cash flow, treasury operations and investment activities
• Strengthen and monitor internal controls, risk management and financial governance frameworks
• Give strategic financial advice to the Council, Executive Committee and relevant committees
• Liaise with regulators, banks and other key stakeholders, and with internal and external auditors, implementing audit recommendations
• Supervise finance staff and oversee procurement and expenditure controls to ensure value for money
• Support the Institution's digital transformation of financial management systems

Required profile

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional qualification such as ICAG, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• At least 7-10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior management role
• Knowledge of Ghanaian financial regulations and public/professional institution governance; experience in a membership-based, non-profit or professional body is an added advantage
