Operational Auditor

About the role

Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) is a limited liability company mandated to build, own and operate the infrastructure for gathering, processing and delivering natural gas to industry. It is recruiting an Operational Auditor based in Accra, reporting to the Audit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with functional heads of departments responsible for operations, supply chain and projects to develop and/or undertake periodic reviews of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for core or support activities.
• Undertake cost reviews of goods, services and works.
• Execute assigned audits to identify potential issues and areas for improvement, and formulate recommended actions through document review and client inquiries.
• Review procedures to ensure Job Safe Practices operate efficiently and minimise or eliminate hazards.
• Carry out resource audits of each work process or activity, evaluating whether resources are adequate and whether operators are properly trained.
• Perform work measurement studies by observing and reviewing process steps with employees.
• Carry out any other duties assigned; about 10-30% of travel is required to operational sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Master's degree in finance (e.g. MBA/MSc Finance) or a professional qualification.
• 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Industrial engineering in the mining or oil and gas sector is a plus.
• Demonstrates integrity and ethical standards, and develops skills through continuing education.
