Head of Business Development and Finance

About the role

This senior position combines leadership of the finance function with active business development and deal origination for a leading luxury real estate developer in Accra.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop a pipeline of opportunities including land acquisition, joint ventures, off‑plan sales and investor engagement.
• Lead commercial negotiations, structure deals and collaborate on pricing and revenue strategies.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and business plans; oversee cash‑flow management and ensure timely project funding.
• Source and manage project financing, including bank facilities, equity capital and structured buyer payment plans.
• Produce monthly management accounts, financial reports and maintain project financial models (cost‑to‑complete, margin tracking, IRR).
• Ensure compliance with tax obligations, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Manage, mentor and develop the accounts team and advise the CEO on investment decisions and risk assessment.

Required profile

• Degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA) or MBA with finance concentration.
• Minimum 8 years experience, at least 3 years in a senior finance or business development role.
• Proven track record in real estate/property development or construction in Africa, with experience raising project finance or investor capital.
