Head of Deposit‑Taking

About the role

The Head of Deposit‑Taking will lead the institution’s deposit mobilisation strategy, driving growth across individual, corporate and institutional segments. Reporting to senior management, this role combines strategic planning, team leadership and close collaboration with marketing and business development functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive deposit mobilisation strategies aligned with growth targets.
• Set, monitor and achieve deposit growth targets for branches and teams.
• Identify new customer segments and opportunities for deposit acquisition.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with individual, corporate and institutional clients.
• Design initiatives to improve customer retention and increase deposit balances.
• Prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with marketing and business development to drive customer acquisition.
• Identify and propose new deposit products and services.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership, motivation and performance management for deposit mobilisation teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in deposit mobilisation, retail banking, micro‑finance or financial services.
• Proven track record of meeting business development and deposit growth targets.
• Strong sales, relationship management, communication and leadership capabilities.
• High ethical standards, integrity and sound decision‑making ability.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and risk‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, deliver measurable results and collaborate within a senior management team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of banking and financial services regulations and corporate governance.
• Understanding of risk management and internal controls.
