Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the financial function of Coastal Commerce Microfinance Ltd, ensuring robust accounting, reporting and strategic financial planning. This senior position reports directly to senior management and plays a pivotal role in driving the institution’s growth and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting functions, preparing periodic financial statements and management reports.
• Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
• Monitor income, expenditure, cash flow and overall financial performance.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bank, ledger and other financial accounts.
• Provide oversight of treasury and liquidity management.
• Ensure compliance with tax and financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes.
• Monitor financial controls and recommend improvements.
• Deliver financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
• Prepare accurate and timely regulatory financial returns.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ICAG, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience with senior finance/accounting responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical and leadership abilities.
