Head of Finance - Savings & Loans Institution

About the role

A reputable financial institution in Ghana is hiring a Head of Finance to lead its financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance and give strategic financial guidance to support business growth. The position is based in Accra and sits at senior management level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• Oversee treasury operations, liquidity management and financial risk
• Ensure compliance with Bank of Ghana regulations, IFRS and Ghanaian tax laws
• Manage financial controls, audits and regulatory reporting
• Provide strategic financial advice to executive management
• Drive cost optimization, operational efficiency and profitability
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field; master's degree (MBA/MSc/MPhil) in a related discipline
• Professional qualification (ICAG, ACCA or CPA) is mandatory
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience in banking or licensed non-bank financial institutions
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with budget and P&L responsibility

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, IFRS 9, Bank of Ghana regulations, taxation and treasury management
• Proficiency in financial modelling, ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Excellent leadership, analytical, communication and decision-making skills
