Microfinance Credit Officer

About the role

Agave Rural Bank, one of the leading rural banks in the Volta Region of Ghana, is recruiting Microfinance Credit Officers. The role covers group formation, loan management and reporting in the bank's catchment areas.

Key responsibilities

• Form groups and manage them effectively
• Identify viable areas of operation
• Manage the credit portfolio, including disbursement and recovery of loans
• Organise, moderate and supervise group meetings
• Prepare regular field and financial reports
• Screen credit group members and assess their loan requirements according to bank policy

Required profile

• HND or equivalent in Accounting, Marketing, Statistics, Business Studies, Agricultural Science or similar
• At least National Service experience, preferably in a development, community-oriented programme or financial institution
• Must not be older than 35 at the date of application
• Willingness to work in rural and deprived communities

Required skills

• Interpersonal, people management and public relations and community entry skills
• Motorbike riding skill or willingness to learn
• Computer literacy
• Sense of responsibility and a results-oriented attitude
