Head of Logistics

About the role

Tullow Oil is seeking a senior leader to head its Logistics function in Ghana, overseeing safety‑critical transport and supply operations for offshore and onshore assets. The role reports to senior management and is based in Accra with responsibilities across the Accra & Tema region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the logistics strategy supporting drilling, production, maintenance and major projects.
• Ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective delivery of personnel, materials, marine, aviation and land transport services.
• Lead regulatory interfaces, contractor performance, incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee materials management, demand planning, inventory optimisation and SAP/ERP compliance.
• Maintain emergency‑response capability and conduct readiness exercises.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years logistics experience in oil & gas or heavy industry, with at least 5 years in a senior logistics leadership role.
• Hands‑on operational depth across marine, aviation, shore‑base/warehousing and land transport.
• Proven track record in safety leadership, incident investigation and audit closure.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and strategic planning abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IOGP, SOLAS and IMDG logistics standards.
• Experience with SAP/ERP systems for inventory and stock control.
• Marine and aviation logistics operations.
• Risk management, crisis response and HSE leadership.
