Head of Pharmacy – Lead Pharmacy Department

About the role

The Head of Pharmacy will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Pharmacy Department of a renowned private medical centre in Accra. This senior role ensures safe, effective, patient‑centred, and commercially sustainable pharmaceutical services across all service lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Pharmacy Department in delivering safe, efficient, patient‑centred and commercially sustainable services across outpatient, inpatient, walk‑in and medicine delivery operations.
• Drive service improvement, revenue growth, cost control and operational efficiency in line with the centre’s strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, professional standards, licensing requirements and internal quality systems.
• Supervise, coach and develop pharmacy and support staff, ensuring adequate coverage, accountability and service excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Licensed and in good standing with the Pharmacy Council.
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive pharmacy experience.
• Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience leading teams, implementing operational improvements, and managing inventory and supply‑chain functions.
