Hotel Receptionist

About the role

The Hotel Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, delivering warm and professional service throughout check‑in and check‑out. The role involves managing reservations, handling payments, and coordinating with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, process check‑ins/check‑outs and allocate rooms.
• Handle reservations via phone, email, online platforms and walk‑ins.
• Answer telephone calls, respond to guest inquiries and maintain accurate guest records.
• Process payments, issue receipts and balance daily transactions.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure room readiness and resolve guest concerns.
• Promote hotel facilities, restaurant, spa services and special offers.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and prepare daily reports and shift handover notes.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum two years proven experience as a Hotel Receptionist or Front Desk Officer.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Experience with hotel reservation/PMS software (advantageous).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
