IT Administrator

About the role

An IT Administrator position based in Accra, advertised by a third-party recruiter. The role covers helpdesk and user support, server and network administration, IT asset and security management, and coordination with vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely onsite and remote technical support for hardware, software and network issues, manage helpdesk requests and train staff on IT tools, security and new systems.
• Administer and monitor servers, workstations and LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls and VPNs; manage user accounts and permissions in Google Workspace and other apps.
• Perform routine system updates, backups and patch management.
• Maintain and document IT assets, licenses and inventory, ensure data protection and compliance with IT policies, and implement endpoint security (antivirus, firewall, data loss prevention).
• Support the rollout of IT projects, upgrades and new technologies, and liaise with vendors to resolve escalated issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in IT administration, helpdesk support or similar roles.
• Experience managing hardware such as PCs, laptops, printers, VoIP and mobile devices.
• Familiarity with CRM, ERP or cloud-based business applications is an added advantage.
