Lecturer positions in medical sciences

About the role

Central University is inviting applications for full‑time lecturer positions across a range of medical science disciplines. The successful candidates will join the university’s academic staff at the Tema campus and contribute to teaching, research, and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in assigned subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Medical Microbiology, Chemical Pathology, Medical Laboratory, Haematology, and Pathology/Laboratory Medicine.
• Develop and update course curricula, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
• Supervise student projects, laboratory work, and clinical placements where applicable.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish findings, and secure research funding.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university service activities.

Required profile

• Minimum of a PhD in the relevant discipline, or for clinicians, a recognized professional membership certificate.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
• Strong academic record and commitment to high‑quality education.

Required skills

• Subject‑matter expertise in one or more of the listed medical science areas.
• Ability to design and deliver effective lectures and laboratory sessions.
• Research methodology and scholarly writing skills.
