Logistics Assistant (Partner Operations Coordination)

About the role

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) Accra is recruiting a Logistics Assistant for its United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) Accra team. The post is based in Accra, Ghana, at post grade GS5, for a duration of 1 year renewable, under the direct supervision of the Partner Operations Coordinator. The UNHRD Accra hub supports emergency response across West and Central Africa by coordinating customer requests, supporting operations and ensuring timely, customer-focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor customer requests across the supply chain, acting as a customer focal point and keeping track of progress against service standards, KPIs and response timelines.
• Support the preparation, dispatch and delivery of emergency relief items in line with customer requirements and humanitarian priorities.
• Support demand planning and preparedness by analysing operational trends and customer needs, helping keep emergency stocks available.
• Maintain operational records, databases and tracking systems, and share accurate data with partners on shipment status, inventory and delivery timelines.
• Work with warehouse, logistics and other hub team members to coordinate storage, handling and dispatch, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Manage customer accounts and relationships with humanitarian partners, and escalate risks while recommending improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, digitalisation and performance monitoring, and carry out other operational tasks assigned by the supervisor.
