Job description
About the role
Complete Farmer is hiring a Logistics Manager (Procurement and Inventory) to build and run a controlled, scalable procurement and inventory system across all its fulfilment centres. The role ensures that every approved trade and cultivation plan has the right materials, crop inventory, processing capacity and execution discipline to deliver on time and to specification. It is a field-based, full-time manager-level position reporting to the Supply Chain Director, with frequent travel to fulfilment centres, farms, aggregation points, warehouses, processors, suppliers and other supply-chain locations.
Key responsibilities
- Translate the approved demand plan, buyer contracts, crop calendar and fulfilment schedule into a rolling procurement, inventory, production capacity and material-readiness plan by SKU, trade, lot, location and date, keeping a single readiness view of supply, crop availability, BOM requirements, stock, open purchase orders, capacity, QA needs and lead times.
- Run procurement and inventory inputs to S&OP and trade execution, applying forecast-freeze, change-control and order-priority rules, and escalate material mismatches with evidence and options.
- Lead the Procurement Officer in category and sourcing plans, maintain controlled BOMs and specifications, approve sourcing strategies and award recommendations, and build strategic partnerships with manufacturers, distributors, processors and service providers.
- Negotiate framework agreements, call-off arrangements, delivery SLAs and warranties, and manage supplier performance and contingency sourcing within controls.
- Establish common inventory SOPs for receiving, inspection, weighing, lot creation, storage, issue, transfer, reconciliation and disposal, and ensure movements are recorded in the ERP, WMS or controlled system.
- Set cycle-count and wall-to-wall count programmes, maintain separation of company-owned, grower-owned, quarantined and consignment stock, and monitor ageing, shrinkage and expiry.
- Lead the Production Manager/Officer in capacity, shift, machine, labour, packaging and maintenance plans, approve production schedules, and monitor uptime, OEE, yield and process loss.
- Create a readiness gate for each trade, assign ownership to Inventory Officers, hold daily execution reviews, and coordinate with Fleet and Ports Operations on pickups, routes and dispatch windows.
- Ensure no crop or lot is shipped without complete quantity, traceability, processing, packaging and QA-release evidence, and conduct post-trade reviews.
- Convert grower production plans into input procurement and issue schedules, controlling batches, expiry, ownership and storage conditions.
