Mortuary Attendant

About the role
The Mortuary Attendant will support the newly opening Bank Hospital in Accra by providing respectful and efficient handling of deceased patients. This position requires a customer‑focused attitude and the ability to work calmly in a sensitive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Transport deceased patients safely within the hospital premises.
- Receive bodies and place them in designated compartment trays.
- Verify identification of bodies and release them to authorized persons.
- Monitor mortuary access, signing in visitors, law enforcement, government officials and legal personnel.
- Assist the Mortuary Technician with routine tasks as needed.
Required profile
- WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent qualification.
- 1–3 years of experience in healthcare or related services.
- Ability to work independently and maintain strong organizational habits.
- Physical strength to lift and move bodies safely.
- Empathy and sensitivity when interacting with families of the deceased.
